I said in the class I am good in English and now I just wondering, really am I? Because I can only do the best in basic English for secondary school kids. While here on English major we must study about phonetic, advance grammar, reading and writing(etc.) I never know about IPA and never write 300 words essay every week. It’s just suddenly pop up and I had not thing to do but go for it.
At the second year things didn’t go on my way, I messed up.
Some of my friend resigned to try another round of admission some got when they want but some didn’t and keep trying  and some just disappeared. But when it turned at me who was already resigned from veterinary technology, it’s a big ‘no' from my parents to resign again. (Actually, I wish that I can go back to my old faculty)

  1. That's a sad writing Mai. I don't know if I can do anything to help. But if my advice should mean anything, it should be that knowledge usually plays itself like that. One day you feel your English was great in class. And that's because you're really great. The next day you feel like there's nothing that you know. IPA, diglossia, syntax, multitimodality, etc. But once you stay with these things long enough, you kind of know more about them.

You knowledge is in an expansion phase. At the beginning of each phase, you're gonna feel lost. Whearas, at the end of each phase, you're going to feel pretty complete and like a really knowledgeable person.

I guess when you feel good with English, that's toward the end of your phase. IPA was when you're in the beginning of a new phase.

Just push it through to the end. Easier said than done, I know. But hey I feel the ebbs and flows of knowledge (self) too. You can talk to me, if that helps. Keep it up.
